Bach Flower Essences
Essence Florealis
Dr. Edward Bach, English physician, received his Doctor of Medicine in 1912.  First emergency
surgeon, he subsequently became an immunologist and worked as a pathologist and bacteriologist at
the University of London college Hospital. Later he joined the staff of the Homeopathic Hospital in
London.

His research on vaccines led him to establish a direct correlation between psychological perceptions,
and physical symptoms.  He concluded that illnesses are tangible results of disharmony, which have
existed for a long time within one' personality.  "Sickness is nothing more than the consolidation of a
mental attitude.
"When action and thoughts are in harmony with one another, illness disappears.  When the precept of
suffering, pain, distress are assimilated, the illness has no more reason to exist."  The entire finality of
our being consists of recognizing our weakness and forcing us to develop an opposing virtue.  "Don't
fight your torments, don't struggle against disease, don't repress your weaknesses; rather , forget them
in order to concentrate on developing the qualities that you lack."

His experience showed him that a specific treatment does not always cure by itself a specific illness.  A
patient's character, his reaction, his state of mind is more important than his physical state.  In 1930, at
the age of 43, Dr. Bach closes his practice and his laboratory in London in order to devote his entire
time to researching plants.  His goal is to crate a system, which is simple, but at the same time
complete, economical and nontoxic.  Thorough intuition and experimentation, he discovers that certain
plants have specific bearings on the demeanor and the emotional characteristics of certain individuals.

Little by little, Dr. Bach selects 38 plants, which relate to desirable and negative qualities in the human
character (e.g. Fear, uncertainty, discouragement, etc.)  The plants in question are wild plants, collected
in optimal conditions at the most mature stage of their development.  They are immediately put in a
container filled with spring water, they remain there for several hours in sunlight, thus transmitting their
properties to the water, this water is then filtered and poured into bottles containing some alcohol for
preservation, these essences are then diluted for distribution.

The 39 remedy (RESCUE REMEDY) is an emergency mixture to be used inc cases such as accidents,
operations, falls, stress of every sort, bad news, argument, dentistry, etc. It brings individual back to
harmony, renewing one's strength.  The rescue remedy also exists as an ointment.

For whom are these floral essences designed?  All living human beings, adults and children, all
animals, and all plants.

How do the essences work?  The remedy subtly upon our beings, on our humor, thus indirectly on our
physical bodies.  They act well within the illness.  It is the vital strength of the plant and that of the sun,
which, transported though water work to undo the difficulties of our emotions. (Our bodies are
comprised of 60-70% water.)

When to use the remedies?  At any time when one feels a moment of difficulty within one'sself.  (E.G.
Periods of change, crisis, overwhelming event, separation, sorrows, illnesses, convalescence, exams,
etc.)  the remedies lead to a better psychological resistance and support medical treatments being
given.

How to take them? Four drops four times per day, or more often if necessary.  The frequency of dose
depends upon the state of the person at the time.  It is useless to try to overdose, but possible to
intensity the number of doses, because it is the content within the liquid, which reestablishes the
equilibrium or energy.

Finally, the flower essences may be taken with all medications without contraindications.
